Important: If you are going to be more than 4 people in the cabin, you must tick to use the annex when booking.
Baalsrudstølen has a unique history – the cabin was once owned by the Norwegian resistance hero Jan Baalsrud. The main cabin is a charming old log house (exact age unknown), while the annex – originally built in 1907 – is a cozy addition, perfect for those who want a bit of extra privacy, whether for children, teenagers, or friends. Both buildings have preserved their authentic character, yet are upgraded with today’s modern comforts.
The cabin is located in peaceful surroundings in what was once Norway’s largest active mountain farming settlement after World War II. Here you are close to nature and a wide range of activities. The Nesbyen area offers endless hiking and biking trails, great fishing opportunities, golf, climbing, and much more. Nearby you’ll also find unique attractions such as Langedrag Nature Park, Bjørneparken Zoo, and Tropicana Waterpark.
We use Baalsrudstølen a lot ourselves and love the place – so we kindly ask that you take good care of it and enjoy your stay.
Please note: In summer, always close the gates when entering or leaving the cabin area.
